The Writer's Christmas Ramblings Part One

Minnie up-staging everyone again!
The Christmas issue is my favourite Beano of the year. You see, I love Christmas and I especially love Christmas comics. The Minnie the Minx for this year's Christmas issue cam about because I had a memory of a school concert from when I was very young. I played the triangle and stood at the back as we sang 'Little Donkey'. Well, I hit the triangle a few times and pretended to sing - my singing was so bad the Teacher told me just to pretend. I started wondering what Minnie the Minx would do at the school concert and how her Teacher would try to stop her wrecking things... and that's this week's Minnie.



Numskulls' niffy decorations.
Well, they're NOT decorating MY tree.
The Numskulls for the Christmas issue was written at one of our script meetings. The basic idea was 'How do the Numskulls decorate Edd's head?". The answer? Well, you'll have to check out the Christmas Beano to find out. But we'll be decorating the Beano office soon! Woohoo! TINSEL-TASTIC!

You call that a tree?
Every year, London gets a whopping big tree sent from Norway. So we got to wondering where Beanotown gets its tree from. And then we wondered what would happen if the tree didn't arrive one year. The result? Plug leads an expedition to get Beanotown its traditional Christmas Tree, in our special, long Christmas story, 'Tree-Mendous Triumph'. Do you see what we did there? 'Tree-mendous'? Get it? Will Plug save save Christmas for Beanotown? What do you think?

The issue was great! The best segment was probable Ivy, or 60 second Dennis and Gnasher. Poor Numskulls, it must of been so pongy!

Minnie and Tree-Mendous Triumph, was also suprising. You’d think that Minnie was going to do ‘Catty-Time’, wouldn’t you? And I sent in a picture of someone in Tree-Mendous Triumph, the girl with the blue and black T-Shirt? And even my envelope was funny!

Shame Ivy’s photo didn’t get in the Beano…
