Either the future or the beginning of time… Not that sure… Maybe something Dr Who based. Like he meets Dr Who or something… Wait I got it! Something about Fred going back to when the first Beano comic came out, and he buys it and sells it for loads or something… Maybe his mum says to him his room’s stacked with Beano’s, and she says to sell them, Fred then decides to see how much they’re really worth and goes back to the 30’s. He buys the first ever Beano, and sells it, then he’s really rich or something… It’s OK. But another idea was that he could meet Calamity James or something… To be honest, the story I’d like most is if he, and five/six other Beano chums, (Roger, Ivy, Ball Boy, Spotty (He’s underused…) and someone else….) Go through time to the 50’s, here they pick up Biffo the Bear and take him to the present day, from there on, Biffo becomes a main character! I’m sure jonnie 12 would like that! One other idea could be 2012 Olympics…

I think Fred should go back in time and land in an old Beano( Preferably 1970’s!) and gets trapped inside it… And his bed’s disappeared! He has to negotiate with the other characters and get back to our time before the Beano he is in is brought!

There’s already been two stories where Fred met other characters, one was a Topper reprint in which he met 90s Beano and Dandy characters, and the other was the 70th birthday one drawn by David Sutherland, in which he met Nick Park and various old Beano characters from Big Eggo and Lord Snooty (the 1st) through to General Jumbo and Little Plum.

Ever heard of Halley’s comet? It is my favourite that I know of, but it is only visible every 76 years. It was last seen in 1986. Fred goes to see Halley’s comet, but something goes wrong.

I think a serious two+ parter would be good. Not just like ‘whoopee im faster than a tiger im racing to my bed’. Maybe his clock breaks and he gets absorbed into the end of the world accidently, his bed dissapears and he has to find a way to get out? I’d like to see something like that :P. + more seriouss ploxx. :’). One story, everything in the beano so far was 8- year old funny, i think there should be something for us older people. :D.

Thanks to everybody for all of these brilliant suggestions. Picking one is going to be incredibly difficult. A couple of you have made suggestions, which we have already done. A few have already appeared in the Beano. Some are scripts we’ve written but our artist hasn’t got round to drawing them yet. Scripts can sometimes be written weeks or months before an artist draws them and then it will often be weeks before they’re printed in the comic.
So, I’ll address a few of these here.

I started writing a Fred about Leonardo Da Vinci but never quite finished it. It was something to do with Fred going back in time so Leonardo could tell him the ending to The Da Vinci Code novel because the last chapter had been ripped out of the copy Fred got from the library or something like that. I may go back to that one some day soon. But another good call!

We just saw the printed copies of Fred meeting the Aztecs. The story for that one was written back in February or March when I was watching an old childrens TV show from the 1970s called The Feathered Serpent. Loved it when I was younger and it’s still great! And scary!

Fred comes across an angry sargent who clames to be sargent Slipper. sargent Slipper is traning some (new)soldiers and thinks that Fred is a new soldier aswell and puts a uniform on him and gives him a huge rifel then tells Fred to go out in to the battle but as soon as Fred sees a stampede of German soldiers charging at him he runs the other direction and crawls under his bed.
Fred is then so hungry that he eats all of the food.

I have thought long and hard and if you could tell me if any of these have or are being done, or may be done, that would be soooooo cool!!!
These are my top five ideas:
1) Fred is in his house, but 30 years ago when his mum was a girl

I think that fred should have one of the 8 page stories where he goes on a world tour. He could vist all these places world war 2, victorian era, dinosaur age, cave men and then go into the future were he gets stuck and escapes next issue. He should also meet loads of people during his time there and work in the chimmneys as well as havin adventures. When in the future he could go to the future beano office and read future beanos.
I also think you could see if peoples ideas can work together (like having fred in a tv in the victorian times) that way more than one person gets a chance to have their idea used in the script
